Welcome to Brendan Johnston Dot Com! While working on a Web site for my band Diminishing Jim, I thought it
might be cool to put together some of the various articles I have written, photos I have taken, and various  things
I've done over the years in one place. Check it out
!
On the Drums...
Check out the latest on my current band, Diminishing Jim, plus some details and photos of previous bands
and projects I've been involved in such as 3-Eyed Fish, Deep, The Mlow Mlows, and Anita Drink! If you've
seen me play drums, you might "need a drink" too.
"He's Out To The Pub..."
Between 1997 and 2006, I was responsible for band bookings and promotions for Schmedley's Pub
in Storrs, CT. I got to know some great musicians and bands doing this, booked some cool shows
(including several national acts such as Living Colour), generated some good publicity in the press,
and drank some good beer. Check out some the details that I can remember...
Images and Words
I have always been interested in writing and photography, and I've had both published
throughout the years. After college, I first worked as Writer for the BBP division of Simon &
Schuster. While there I also did some freelance writing and photography, including a feature
article on the band Dream Theater and photography for the Deep Purple CD Live at the
Olympia. I also worked as Contributing Writer and later Staff Writer for the newspaper The
Lyme Times.
Darker Than Blue
Having mentioned Deep Purple, I should admit that I am a big fan. Why is that
important? Well, I have travelled pretty extensively to see some of their shows and have
a large collection of their music. Along with some friends of mine, I have hung out with
the band on numerous occasions, as well as various musicians who are associated with
the band. Check out more info than I should admit to in public.
Family and Friends
Most certainly not least, here are some more fun pictures of family and friends taken throughout the
years. The picture on the right is with my wife, Amber. The picture was taken in a pub (where else?) in
Dublin in 2001. A few days later on this trip to Ireland I proposed to her! Check out more pictures from
that trip, our wedding, our twin girls, and various other occasions here.
